Food allergies can range from mild reactions to life-threatening emergencies, making it essential for early childhood professionals to recognize symptoms quickly and respond appropriately. In early learning environments, children may be exposed to allergens during meals, snacks, and classroom activities, increasing the need for strong prevention and safety practices.
In this training, participants will explore common food allergens, warning signs of allergic reactions, and national health and safety recommendations for managing food allergies in early childhood programs. Educators will also learn practical strategies to reduce exposure to allergens, prevent cross-contact, support individualized allergy action plans, maintain safe food practices, and respond confidently during allergy-related emergencies.
