“Step up. Speak well. See it through.”
DESCRIPTION: The Elite Leadership Lab is a high-impact professional development experience designed to help directors build the leadership foundation every effective school runs on. Guided by the principles in Paula Jorde Bloom's Leadership in Action: How Effective Directors Get Things Done, this interactive session moves directors from reacting to leading, helping them take initiative before problems grow, think critically under pressure, and communicate in ways that earn genuine buy-in from staff.
Participants will examine their own leadership style honestly, identify the habits that hold them back, and practice the seven behaviors that separate directors who stay busy from directors who get things done: taking initiative, thinking critically, listening effectively, motivating others, practicing self-discipline, delegating well, and continuing to evolve as a leader. Directors leave with a clear picture of their growth areas and a practical plan for leading their school and staff with confidence.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Take initiative and think critically by identifying issues early, analyzing situations from multiple perspectives, and choosing a course of action before problems escalate.
- Build influence through listening and motivation by using active-listening techniques that help staff feel heard and applying motivational strategies that match what drives each individual team member.
- Sustain follow-through by practicing self-discipline, delegating in ways that develop staff strengths, and creating a personal plan to keep evolving as a leader.
