Description: Children bring their whole selves into the classroom—including experiences that may involve stress, adversity, or trauma. Trauma-Informed Practices in Child Care equips early childhood professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize the impact of trauma on young children’s behavior, development, and learning. Participants will explore how trauma affects the brain, identify common trauma responses in infants and young children, and learn practical strategies to create safe, supportive, and responsive environments. This training emphasizes relationship-based care, emotional safety, and consistent routines while empowering educators to respond to challenging behaviors with empathy rather than punishment. Educators will leave with actionable strategies they can immediately implement to support healing, resilience, and positive outcomes for all children.
