What Is the CDA Credential?

The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education and a key step toward career advancement. It is based on a core set of competency standards that guide early care professionals as they grow into qualified teachers of young children.

Who Qualifies for the CDA?

To earn the CDA Credential, candidates need:

✓ A high school diploma or GED, or current enrollment in a high school career or technical program
✓ 480 hours of experience working with young children in the appropriate setting within the last three years

To receive credit for the live sessions, please plan for the following:

✓ Log in from a computer with a working camera and audio and a reliable internet connection. Phones are not allowed.
✓ Stay on camera for the entire session, fully engaged and free from distractions. This includes no caregiving duties, no work tasks, and no participating from a vehicle.
✓ Take an active part in discussions, polls, and questions.
✓ Attendance is checked randomly throughout each session.

Late arrivals, early departures, or not meeting these requirements will result in removal from the class with no refund.
